This beautiful variety of fountain grass is often called black-flowered fountain grass, this pennisetum has fuzzy flower spikes that are a smoky purple-black in color. They emerge in late summer and make a nice contrast to the fine, deep green foliage. Makes a great accent in a sunny flower border, or you can plant in drifts for a massed effect. Only grows to approximately 20 inches.

Note: If desiring a 2 - 3 foot clump, use 100 seeds in a 2 foot diameter area when planting.
