Densely-tufted clumps bow beneath the weight of these long blooms, forming a lovely cascade! Adding rich rosy-pink color to the summer landscape, this annual Pennisetum (Fountain Grass) is a treasure in the hot, dry garden. Its 12-inch plumes have a fuzzy, soft consistency, seeming to float above spinach-green stalks 2 feet tall. Perfect as a specimen or accent planting, this Fountain Grass forms a very dense, rounded clump 18 inches wide. The blades bow under the weight of its bright blooms, creating a lovely cascading effect. The flowers are lovely in arrangements as well as in the garden. This plant adds both color and architectural effect to the garden, blooming from midsummer till fall. Plant in full sun and in dry soil, even poorly fertile types. Once established, this perennial is largely maintenance-free.
