Blooming 90 days after sowing, this easy-to-grow plant sprouts large white blooms and is hardy in drier climates. Sow seed at 70°F, do not cover (seed needs light to germinate). When Yarrow is in full bloom, feel it and on the day the umbel changes from a soft to a stiff texture is the day you should cut. To dry yarrow hang it upside down in dry, dark, open, airy place.
Yarrow spreads very rapidly so plant them at least 3 feet apart. They need to be divided every 3-4 years. They are excellent as dried or cut flowers and are very useful in arrangements. Grow in rock gardens, wildflower areas or in borders. Blooms should be cut after fading. If you find that your plants are disappearing from your garden, the likely culprit is soil that is too wet or high humidity. These plants prefer hot, semi-dry conditions and lanquish in wet conditions.
Approximately 5000 seeds covers 300 square feet.
