Morning Glory Caprice

Morning Glory (Ipomoea Purpurea Caprice) - Be dazzled and amazed by this showy vining annual grown by Morning Glory flower seeds! This Morning Glory is a rapidly growing climber, producing a wealth of open, trumpet shaped flowers that measure 2 inches across. The flowers are sky blue set off by a violet star. Morning Glory Caprice will produce hundreds of blooms over the summer and they remain open well into the afternoon. Ipomoea is perfect for trellis, walls, archways, or scrambling over fences.

Growing Morning Glory Caprice from flower seed is easy. Because they have a hard seed coat, nicking the seed coat with a knife tip or rubbing seeds with a piece of sandpaper will improve germination. After nicking the seeds, place them in a bowl and soak overnight in warm water.

Seeds can be planted directly outdoors in any reasonably good garden soil that receives at least six hours of bright light during the day. Sow Ipomoea flower seeds after all danger of frost has passed, 6 - 8 seeds per foot. Thin to 12 inches apart. To get a jumpstart in the spring, seeds can be planted indoors in a container and then transplanted outdoors when they have 2 - 3 leaves.
