Garland sun and shade grass mixture is a combination of 70% Perennial Ryegrass combined with drought and shade tolerant Fine Fescue which is 30% of the blend. A brand new perennial ryegrass released from Bailey Seed Company, TeeLee is showing outstanding growth characteristics, disease resistance, stress tolerance, and recuperative characteristics in East Coast states and the surrounding area. TeeLee ranked very high in the lastest NTEP trials for multiple categories.

Private is a new generation, heat and disease tolerant, decumbent, very dark green, photoperiod sensitive, endophyte enhanced (>90%) perennial ryegrass variety. Private can be utilized in all perennial ryegrass applications but will be promoted in the transitional climates where heat and disease have been limiting factors to permanent perennial ryegrass turf utilization. Private forms a leafy fine textured turf with rapid seedling germination, excellent traffic tolerance and polyspecie compatibility. Plant growth of perennial ryegrass is dominated by aggressive basal tillering in contrast to vegetative stolons (above ground) and rhizomes (below ground).

Derby Xtreme is an elite perennial ryegrass featuring a dark green turf color, a fine leaf texture and excellent fall density. Based on the latest NTEP data, this sturdy variety should stand up well against wear, making it a top choice for sports fields and other high traffic areas. Derby Xtreme has demonstrated strong resistance to rust, gray leaf spot and brown patch diseases. Derby Xtreme is a proven stand-out for high-end sports turf and home lawns.

Derby Xtreme was developed for permanent polyspecie turfgrass blends and mixtures containing improved perennial ryegrass; Kentucky bluegrass; chewings, slender creeping and strong creeping red rescue; colonial bentgrass and turf type tall fescue. Derby Xtreme can also be used in winter overseeding blends and mixtures on greens, tees and fairways where rapid transitional qualities are desired.

Wrigley is an excellent choice for lawn and professional turf. With lower fertility needs, you are able to enjoy a dark green turf without a lot of input. Wrigley will help to " jump start" your lawn in the spring when most other grass is dorment. If shade is a problem, then this is your answer for a green turf in your shady area. Use Wrigley and have confidence in your turf performing to your high expectations.

Wrigley mixes well with most other turf species for sports turf, lawns and golf courses. Low maintenance situations would be ideal for Wrigley. With the darker color you will spend less time and money on fertilizer for your lawn to look nice and green. Wrigley is very shade tolerant, a nice dark green color, has excellent spring green-up, and has very low fertility requirements.

Cindy Lou is a very dark green, fine-leaf textured, aggressively rhizomatous variety of strong creeping red fescue. It exhibits an upright-crown growth habit and remains distinctly dark green and is aesthetically pleasing when managed under moderate drought stress. Cindy Lou has excellent seedling vigor and is best adapted to shady sites where low fertility and moderately low soil pH conditions dominate. Cindy Lou, like all fine fescues, requires soil with good internal drainage for optimal turf performance. Cindy Lou is an endophyte enhanced strong creeping red fescue with >90% Epichloe typhina endophyte which provides resistance to a number of leaf and crown feeding pests and improves tolerance to abiotic (non-living) and biotic (living) stress.

Cindy Lou was entered in the 1998 Fine Fescue NTEP Test along with 78 fine fescue varieties. Data from the most recent 2001 Progress Report (01-4) conducted across 28 locations in the U.S. and Canada indicates that Cindy Lou tied for 1st in turf quality and 2nd in color among all strong creeping red fescue varieties. Cindy Lou also exhibits good resistance to dollar spot incited by Sclerotinia homoeocarpa, red thread (Laetisaria fuciformis) and summer patch incited by Magnaporthe poae.

Rose is an outstanding member of the cool season grass family Creeping Red Fescue. Rose has the ability to "creep" or spread through underground shoots which help repair damaged areas and fill in thin stands of lawn. Rose is not red, as one might think, but it is a beautiful shade of green and will maintain its color without extra fertilizer.

An advantage to Rose is that it is cold tolerant and mixes well with most other cool season grasses. Rose is highly recommended for use in mixtures for medium fine sports turf, heavy duty sports turf, and low maintenence situations.

Garland contains very high levels of viable endophyte that are maintained through proper storage of breeder, foundation, and certified seed. Garland turfgrass mixture is resistant to a number of important turf insects including: billbugs, sod webworms, chinch bugs, armyworms, aphids, leaf hoppers, and possibly nematodes.
