Prunella (Prunella Grandiflora Pagoda Mix) - Prunella seeds grow quickly and produce a very hardy flowering ground cover plant that will provide a long season of flowering. Very popular in Europe, Prunella is just beginning to come into its own in this country. The Prunella flowers in this mix are in the colors of deep violet, rich rosy-lilac, and pure white. It makes a lovely display of color for a long bloom season, and the butterflies and beneficial insects are very attracted to it. It's a vigorous spreader and is excellent for edging the flower garden or as a general drought tolerant ground cover plant.

Prunella ground cover plants are quite frost-resistant, and they thrive in a wide variety of soils and light exposures. Prunella ground cover seeds are easy to sow and a great way to establish plants. It is ready to transplant just 6 weeks after sprouting, and may be started either in late winter for spring transplant, or in mid- to late summer for fall transplant. Prunella plants will bloom the first year when grown from seed. Hardy, dependable, and free-flowering, it is an exceptional ground cover you should not miss! Prunella care includes trimming the spent flowers to neaten the appearance and to promote continued blooming.

White Prunella ground cover plants are smothered in white blooms forming on compact spikes that rise above the thick green foliage. Prunella begins blooming in June and continues all the way through September. They make an excellent ground cover or border plant. A common name for Prunella is Self Heal. As the name indicates, the Self Heal plant has medicinal properties.

Drought tolerant Prunella ground cover will thrive in many types of soil. Prunella plants will grow in either full or part sun, and it attracts butterflies and beneficial insects. White Prunella Self Heal has dazzling flowers. The foliage only gets to about 4 inches tall, but the flowers will bloom upward another 6 - 8 inches. Space Prunella ground cover plants about 10 - 12 inches apart.

These wonderful reddish-purple blossoms are very attractive to butterflies and other beneficial garden insects.
