Perennial ryegrass is a high yielding, high quality grass. Under grazing management, the best varieties are very persistent provided they are well fertilized and well managed. In cold areas, perennial ryegrass plays an important role in short term-production with high yields and quality. Perennial ryegrass is compatible in mixtures with white clover. It is suitable for cultivation in most types of soils except very wet land.
CALIBRA possesses very high disesae resistance and tolerates close grazing. Good winterhardiness has been reported in most trials. CALIBRA will become one of the most grown tetraploid intermediates world wide in the next decade. Very good results have been obtained in many European countries and it is spreading rapidly in the U.S.
CALIBRA is one of our most winterhardy ryegrasses. In areas that experience periodic winter kill of Perennial ryegrass stands, CALIBRA should improve the chance of having a successful stand of perennial ryegrass. CALIBRA is very well suited to management intensive grazing, but hay and silage management will work as well. When mixed with White Clover, CALIBRA forms an unbeatable pasture.
