Celery is a popular, nutritious, cool weather vegetable producing long crisp stalks. Delicious raw or in salads, soups and stews. Start vegetable seed indoors or in the greenhouse in early spring. This variety produces eleven to twelve inch stalks on plants that reach about 30 inches in height. Can also be sown directly outdoors after danger of frost has passed. Cover seed with 1/8 inch fine soil. Space rows 2 feet apart. Leave about 12 inches between seedlings. Celery seed germinates in 2 to 3 weeks depending upon soil and weather conditions. Keep seedbed moderately moist during germination.

The most popular green celery; the same tender, string-free variety found in food markets. Produces broad, thick stalks with a rich, nutty flavor. Cool weather vegetable. This packet will produce more than 80 plants.

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS:
Start indoors 10 weeks before outdoor planting date. Broadcast evenly on well-watered soil and cover lightly. When 2 inches tall, thin to 2 inches apart. Transplant outdoors when the plants are 4 inches tall. Place in well-cultivated soil and keep watered.

Celery demands cool weather, so allow enough time for it to mature before summer's heat or winter's freeze. Before harvesting, blanch for 2 weeks to promote added tenderness.
