Aster (Callistephus Dwarf Milady Rose) - Aster seeds are so rewarding to grow, and this dwarf variety is ideal for baskets and containers! Aster Milady only reaches 10 inches in height but it has large 3 inch rose colored blooms. The flowers resemble powder puffs and are butterfly magnets. Milady Aster Rose is easily grown from flower seeds. The compact size make these Aster plants ideal for container gardening as well as borders and flower gardens.
Start Aster seeds indoors 6 - 8 weeks before the last frost is expected. The flower seeds should be lightly covered with soil and kept moist. Once established, Aster Milady plants are very heat resistant and virtually worry free. This Aster can produce non-stop rose blooms from summer until the first hard frost in autumn.

Many asters are hardy perennials but the annual aster, or China Aster, is not hardy and is grown as an annual.

Why haven’t my asters bloomed?
There are a number of possible causes for this. Asters need full sun to grow well and bloom. They may be getting too much nitrogen, not have enough other nutrients, they may be stressed by drought or too much water, or it may just be too early. Asters bloom in fall, when days are growing shorter.
