Dianthus allwoodii, also known as Dianthus Alwood Pink, grows low mounds of sprawling, blue grey, linear, grass-like foliage that bears colorful, fragrant, pink flowers that continuously bloom throughout the summer, especially when dead headed.

Dianthus Allwoodii is excellent for cutting and can be grown in the front of the border or in an unexposed pocket in the rock garden. The lightness and daintiness of the allwoodii varieties make them excellent for all decorative purposes.

How to grow
How To Grow Dianthus From Seed: For early blooms, sow Dianthus seeds indoors 6 - 8 weeks before frost season is over. Use sterile starter mix and sow seeds on the surface. Barely cover Dianthus seeds 1/16 inch with soil. Transplant seedlings when temperatures have warmed.
Or sow Dianthus flower seed directly outside after frost season has passed and soil temperatures are warming to a minimum of 40 degrees or warmer. Keep the seed moist until germination.
