Sweet Pea (Lathyrus odoratus Night & Day) - Highly contrasting mix of pure white and deep burgundy flowers which typically bloom from June - September. Delicate scented flowers. Favorite English cottage garden flower. With a very high decorative value, Sweet Pea "Night and Day" is recommended to be grown on balconies, on porches, or as a cut flower.
Grow Sweet Pea plants in full sun, but in areas with very hot summer weather, provide some afternoon shade for the best performance. Position them away from winds and rotate locations from year to year to prevent pests. In cold climates plant the seed in early spring, as soon as the soil can be worked. In warm climates, plant in October through January for spring bloom. For best germination, soak the Sweet Pea seeds overnight in warm water.
