Common Primrose (Primula Acaulis S1 Accord White) - Easy-to-grow from Primula Acaulis seeds, Common Primrose plants are a welcome addition to early spring borders! Over the last few decades, breeding programs have improved the attributes of Common Primrose, making them a favorite bedding plant that can be grown from flower seeds. Now these Primroses are very hardy in the flower garden and are long-lived. Primula Primroses are now widely grown and marketed as bedding plants, potted house plants and are excellent container plants. Common Primrose is also known as English Primrose, and the botanical name Primula Vulgaris is synonymous with Primula Acaulis.

Sow Primrose flower seeds indoors in late fall or early winter. Use starter trays and a peaty starter mix. Press the Primula Vulgaris seeds into the starter mix but do not cover the flower seeds. Light is beneficial for germination. Keep Primrose seeds moist but not saturated. After the Primrose seedlings get their second or third leaves they can be transplanted to a protected outdoor seedbed or individual pots. Plant out in late winter or early spring. When planting Primroses into their permanent place, amend the garden soil with plenty of organic matter and use a slow release fertilizer. Space the Primrose plants 8 inches apart in a partially shaded setting. Primula Acaulis care includes keeping the Primrose plants well watered to help their bloom season last as long as possible.
